A little about me:

Miranda Maria Morales (aka M   )

3

It all started when I saw my school band play when I was about 10 years old. I instantly fell in love. After the show, to my surprise, the conductor, who was the AP at the time, announced that if any students were interested in joining the band, he would be willing to teach them. He was hosting auditions, but they weren't necessarily auditions because they were even for kids who had zero experience in music. He just wanted to see who would be serious in learning and would actually join the band. I went to the "auditions" with my friend that I convinced on coming with me. Originally, I wanted to learn how to play the flute, but the conductor gave one look at me, and he said, "Guitar!". I, at the time, didn't want anything to do with the guitar. I wasn't interested in it at all. However, he taught me anyway and I couldn't be more grateful. After the "auditions" he put me in the band! He taught us almost everything from Jennifer Hudson to Michael Jackson. We would play for all the school events. I didn't realize that that would be the start of my beloved crazy music journey.

Throughout middle and high school, I've learned how to read and play all different types of music. In addition, I took online music courses through rockstaracademy.net for about 10 years and learned how to play piano/keys, ukulele and bass. I can play almost anything from classical to alternative, rock and pop. I always say, "As long as there is sheet music or I can hear/sound out the notes, I can play it." I've taken online music teaching courses from Berklee College of Music to further my music education. This is when I decided to get into music teaching. I've started teaching at the start of 2020. I originally started with my own private students and then worked for the School of Rock in Easton, PA in 2021. In addition to teaching, I've helped them transcribe some of their music. I've also written an article for them for beginner guitarists about chords. (Hint: go to their website and search up guitar chords for beginners and look at the bottom for my name ;)) I've then moved on to teach for Young Mozart Music Academy in Edison, NJ in 2022 and taught students' classical music and the importance of putting on a good performance. Throughout the years, I've had my own private students and helped them build a solid foundation in their music education by social and emotional learning that will continue to make an impact for the rest of their lives.

I've created "The M3 Theory of Music" because I understand what it's like to pick up that instrument for the first time, play it, get excited and put it down for months because it was too frustrating or too complex. With me as your instructor, you'll gain the confidence and the motivation so you no longer FEEL that becoming a musician is impossible but KNOW that it can be achieved. Check out the review page to see what some of my current students are saying or schedule a free trial to see if my lessons work for you. Looking forward to meeting and jamming with you soon  :)."

                                                        FAQ

Q:How do you do lessons?

I’m located in Pennsylvania and give in person lessons in Marshalls Creek, East Stroudsburg, and Stroudsburg Areas. If you are located in these areas and want in person lessons, feel free to book now. If you’re located outside of these areas and/or located in a different state, I also give online lessons. All lessons are one-on-one. As of now, I am doing lessons through Zoom. Once you book a lesson and confirm, it will send you a Zoom link so we can start. If you prefer to use a different  video conferencing site, let me know in the checkout page when you book a lesson and I’ll personally contact you.

Q: What ages do you teach?

I teach people of all different ages and levels. However, the youngest I'll teach is 6 years old. Younger than that, I recommend they either wait or take in person lessons. Since all lessons are done online, it would be harder for those under 6 to pay attention and grasp the lesson.

Q: How do you teach? Do you use method books? Why is your way of teaching better than other private music teachers?

I teach on a song first method. This entails teaching all my students a song first and then build on it by teaching them music theory so they comprehend what they’re learning. Every student will learn basic music theory with their instrument. What makes my style of teaching more special than other private music teachers is that each lesson is accustomed to each student so no two students will learn the exact same thing. Most other music teachers use method books but fail to find ways to truly connect to their students and see what they truly want to learn. In the first few lessons, I start off with an introduction song to see what skill the student needs to build on first and then tailor the following lessons on what they want to learn and what they need help on. For example, every beginner student will start with an introduction song on the C Major key. Based on how well they do, they will continue with a song from a genre of their choice on the next major/minor key.  I have music sheets and worksheets that I teach my students under the worksheets tab but you have to sign up first.

Q: Do you teach kids with special needs?

I am not qualified in any way to teach children with special needs. However, I have taught children with learning disabilities before and it hasn't really interfered with their lessons. If you feel that your child needs special commendation and help with lessons, I recommend finding a teacher who is qualified in that area and can help them the best way possible.

Q: I want one of my children to take lessons. They are older than 6 but I still feel they are a bit young to take lessons. Will they be fine to take lessons on their own?

Yes, they will be fine to take lessons on their own. If they are younger than 10 years old, I recommend that a parent sit with them in the first lesson or two to help them get situated so I can see what will be best for them for the lessons.

Q: I have played one of these instruments before and I want to continue but I don't know what level I am at.

Feel free to contact me first before booking a lesson so I can help you determine what level you're at so you don't accidentally pay for the wrong one.

Q: Do you teach in any other languages?

I speak and teach in Spanish.

Q: What is the sign up for? What happens when I sign up?

When you sign up, you get access to music sheets, videos, and worksheets that I post for all my students. I highly recommend signing up so when we cover certain material in lessons, you'll know where to download and save them. Please keep in mind that the sign up is for students only. I approve the sign ups. If you’re not a student and want access to music sheets, videos, and worksheets, you will not get approved.

Q: How often should I take lessons?

I recommend taking lessons once a week. You don't have to take lessons once a week if your schedule does not allow it. You can always take one lesson or two a month. It also depends on the skill of the student. For beginner students, it is highly recommended to take weekly lessons so you maintain a steady routine which can help build your stamina as a beginner musician.

Q:Which instrument do you think would be easier to start with?

Ukulele and the bass is easier because the strings are gentler on your fingertips. It only has four strings so it makes chord shapes and scales easier to learn. Ukuleles are more affordable instruments so if you want to  become a  musician but having trouble on where to start, ukulele would be a great starter.
